Third Annual William Monroe High School Community Service Club Golf Tournament

“Remembering a Hometown Hero"

The William Monroe High School (WMHS) Community Service Club is excited to announce the Third Annual WMHS Community Service Club Golf Tournament honoring fallen Corporal Adam Fargo, WMHS Class of 2002 and raising funds to help finish projects in the Adam Fargo Memorial Field House.

The field house is named and dedicated in honor of Corporal Adam Fargo, WMHS Class of 2002, of Ruckersville. Adam died in Baghdad, Iraq on July 22, 2006 when his convey encountered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).  While Adam attended WMHS, he was involved in basketball and soccer. All that knew Adam described him as a loving, caring and an outgoing person. 

Through the past two golf tournaments, the WMHS Community Service Club has raised $28,000 to help this project.  The Adam Fargo Memorial Field House was dedicated on September 11, 2009 at a ceremony held in the William Monroe High School Performing Arts Center.  This ceremony marked a great accomplishment for the community, but our work is not complete.  There are many projects left inside the building that await funding from generous contributors like yourself.  This is why we are pleased to announce this year that we will hold a third tournament to honor Cpl. Adam Fargo.

The William Monroe High School Community Service Club is a place where students can really learn what it means to serve one another and to make an impact in their community.  It continues to consist of a group of freshman, sophomores, juniors, and seniors sponsored by Mrs. Donna Edins and Mrs. Dreama Johnson the high school’s College Guide.

Our goal this year is $10,000 and we believe that with your generous gift, we can see the building to its final stages.  By making our goal, we will be able to provide funding to finish projects that still need completion inside of the building.
