Members of the 16U Zero Tolerance Girls Fastpitch Softball Team wash cars to raise money for Brenda Gentry a Greene County woman fighting a brain tumor. Gentry is well known in the county for her charitable efforts and now members of the community are finding many ways to help her.

Team manager Helen Myers, who calls herself Team Mom, is proud of the girl’s effort on behalf of Gentry.

“I think the girls did a great job in raising more than $800 through the car wash and some generous donations,” says Myers. “This is a good way for our team to work together off the field and benefit our community. In some situations there is nothing you can do to help but this is something you can do to help.”

“There are 14-15 girls on the team plus the parents and supporters of the team,” continues Myers. “It’s a really good group of girls. People should come out and watch us play.”
