With so much to do in and around Greene County, sometimes there is just no room on the calendar. This weekend features several qualifying Greene 100 activities. We invite you to explore Central Virginia and then come home to Greene. (Note: Although I have tired to make sure all events are open to the public and family safe but please check first before going.)

Weekend of May 19 - 20

Saturday, May 19 Armed Forces Day

9am; gather at 8:45am
Blue Star Salute Armed Forces Day Parade
Park at the Kroger Shopping Center on Rio Road.
Please join in honoring our Armed Forces and their families

10:00 AM - 5:00 PM
2nd Annual XtremeFest of the Blue Ridge with a showing of “Everest” following at Dusk. The fun takes place along the South River at Ridgeview Park in Waynesboro, Virginia. Come on out and get acquainted with a new sport like rock climbing or kayaking. There will be plenty of opportunities to try them both not to mention several chances to walk away with some great gear. Bring the whole family

6:00 - 9:00 PM Heritage Concert
The Hartland Campus Choir and the Three Angels' Chorale present 1607-2007, celebrating 400 years of English Hymns in America. Enjoy refreshments after the concert provided by the Madison Historical Society and free massages by the Hartland Students! Hebron Lutheran Church in Madison (540) 948-4455

9:00 AM 20th Annual Tour de Madison Bike Tour
Come celebrate the 20th Annual Tour de Madison Bike Tour. Registration and breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. A special ceremony will be held at 9 a.m. and the ride will begin at 9:30 a.m. Come see the gorgeous scenery of Madison!

1:00 PM Butterflies at Ivy Creek, Ivy Creek Natural Area
Featuring music from the CHSO's award-winning performance at the London Heritage Festival of Music in April, along with Vivaldi's Concerto Grosso in D minor, Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, and more. Senior soloists include Melbourne String Quartet members Marvin Brown, Shankar Srinivasan, Mary Kate Smith, and Fitz Gary.

7:30 PM Charlottesville High School Orchestra Spring Concert
Martin Luther King, Jr. Performing Arts Center at CHS
