After two years as
chairman, Frank Demko spoke with relief and
appreciation of participation from volunteers and
the community."We
served 465 breakfasts and, at it's peak, there were
probably 450 walking around the exhibits and
listening to the entertainment. We had one
couple who have come for breakfast the last 12 years
and a couple who was here for the first time.
When one fellow came through he asked if it was one
plate only but he came back later to say it had more
than enough.
I am so thankful to the
45plus volunteers who started the week before
capping strawberries, making the sauce and then
making the 50 cakes, 180 pies, 24 sheet cakes and
500 crepes. The cakes were sold out by 9:00
AM."
The church hopes to use
proceeds from the event to make donations to the
Greene County Food Bank and to Habitat for Humanity.
See you again next year.
