A special surprise for and from Ms. Lee-Tai : Hi Friends, Thought you'd get a kick out of hearing that my book A Place Where Sunflowers Grow has won the Jane Addams Children's Book Award (for the category of Books for Younger Children)!  I hadn't even known it was in the running, so it was a great surprise.  I plan to attend the awards ceremony in NYC on Friday, 10/19/07.  Hope to see some of you New Yorkers there.  Here's the link if you want to learn about the award/Jane Addams/Jane Addams Peace Association:

It should be noted this Greene County event was the only Festival event to occur outside Charlottesville/Albemarle County and was well attended and received by the community.  With the help of The Friends of Greene County Library, the county and the Jefferson-Madison Regional Library system and other supporters, Greene County Library continues to grow and offer many outstanding programs for the community.
