Free film, fun, conversation

Fourth Wednesdays Film Series — 7 pm  in the library meeting room.  Funded by the Friends of Greene County Library, these are award winning, first run, independent and foreign films from the top festivals, shown on the BIG SCREEN (in surround sound!). Come on out -- it's FREE and it's FUN. Join your friends, sip some coffee, watch a great film and join in a discussion afterwards. [These films have not been rated by the MPAA and should be assumed to have mature content.]

poster“Festival Shorts Collection” A compilation of 8 of the best short films from around the world.

Countries represented are Spain, Germany, France (2), Great Britain, and Canada (3).

"Aided Migration" from France is animated; "Man in the Moon" from Germany and "A Half Man" from Canada are Claymation films.

"The Sickie" from Great Britain is funny. An under-appreciated employee that everyone else at work dumps problems on decides to call in sick, to teach a lesson to his co-workers, but his conscience gets in the way of having a good time on the "sick day".

"No Bikini" from Canada is beautifully filmed. A young girl spends a week at her new swim team as a boy after she dispenses with the top of her two piece suit .

Other titles include:
"Diamonds in a Bucket" from Canada about Vivian and Harold's and how  his 30-year old daughter shows up to spoil their sad, pathetic relationship.  .

"The Dance Lesson" from France is a five-minute hilarious instruction dance class.

"The Great Zambini" from Spain is the story of an aging circus performer and his relationship with his young son.

RUNNING TIME: 80 min.
RELEASE DATE: 2007
