From the
very young to the very
old and every age
in-between, people
gathered from around the
area to join the fun at
the annual Evergreene
Nursing Care Center
Easter event.
The day
was brisk but all the fun
kept children and adults
warm with movement and
laughter. Of
course, the big event was
the Easter Egg Hunt with
colorful candy and prize
filled plastic eggs
scattered across the
grounds, lurking on
windowsills, tucked into
topiary and peeking from
under bushes and from
behind plants.
The Easter
Bunny served as host
making sure each child
got a hello and a hug and
sometimes a bunny prank
(no you cannot have that
egg and bring it right
back -of course.)
Then there
was the duck pond were
the water was a bit nippy
but children still
swooped in to grab a duck
hoping for a prize number
on the tilted tail.
A cupcake walk kept young
ones dancing for the
yummy treats. (Did
you know there is a disco
bunny recording?)
Steve
North and Son -
Christopher put their own
stamp of approval on the
day with inspirational
song. A bake sale
made sure even the
non-egg hunters had a
chance at a sweet treat.
Before we
had to leave we got to
watch youthful
determination at work as
the youngsters tried to
burst the paper chicken
piņatas to expose all the
goodies within.
Some used the
baseball/softball bat
approach, others went for
the one handed, on-tiptoe
style to try to get that
extra bit of height while
others engage the help of
an adult to make them
taller and the really
determined tried the
two-handed
I-am-going-to-do-this
swat at the swinging
fowl.
As always
happens in Greene County
and neighboring counties,
when folks get together
for community fun - a
good time is always had
by all.
We share
with you photos of the
goings-on and invite you
to come to our neck of
the wonderful woods and
enjoy the best of life.
