Saturday, July 4th

You will want to begin the morning with a selection from the regularly scheduled Greene County Farmer's Market from 8:00AM - 11:00AM.  Be first for the most selection.  This stuff is good and goes fast.

10:00AM Watch Stanardsville's Fourth of July Parade sponsored by *STAR* as it travels along Main Street in Stanardsville.  Free Family Flagwaving Fun

Before or after the parade, check out the Greene County Historical Society  Open 10AM - 3PM  Check our Link for photos, map and information.  It is right next to the Courthouse and has very interesting materials to view. 

After the parade, buy a souvenir you can truly enjoy from one of our many unique businesses including The Little Shop on Main Street  or other Center Yourself in Greene Businesses  Check our Greene Gift Guide for suggestions

You may want to pick up a delicious lunch at the Little Shop on Main Street (light sandwiches, soups and salads and their special-too-delicious-to-miss peach cobbler.)

Or on July 4th help raise funds for the Greene Habitat for Humanity Chapter at the special BBQ sponsored by Stanardsville United Methodist Church.

Sunday, July 5th

Choose your activity from many but never forget your time in Greene County surrounded by the beauty of the Blue Ridge and the welcome of our community.

However you choose to celebrate the holiday, we encourage you to do it safely. 

Don't drink and drive and don't get in a car with a driver who has been drinking.  This applies to all vehicles including boats.

Obey the rules of the road and the rules and guidelines at all activities and attractions.

Take care of yourself and those around you.

Remember that our many freedoms bring responsibilities.  Celebrate with good cheer and good sense.
