Park Pavilion
About
Our Community Park and
Ruritans
Our Community Park is
an important amenity to
County residents and a
vital component of a
healthy community.
Purchased by the County
in 1996, the 69 acre
property is located
between Stanardsville and
Ruckersville. It is
generally rolling with
forested areas, open
space, two
creeks and a natural
small pond, and offers:
•
soccer
fields,
•
a
children’s playground,
•
a disc
golf course,
•
nature
trails for walking and
jogging,
•
a
large family picnic
shelter.
Since our Park was
acquired, Ruritans have
been active in assisting
in developing activities
and facilities there for
all our community to
enjoy. The club’s service
has included:
• Grading and
layout for children’s
playground
• Construction of
family picnic shelter
• Offering
concessions at soccer
games
Currently, our Park
Master Plan is being
updated so additional
facilities can be added.
Your dollars from this
tournament’s proceeds
will go to items such as:
• Water and
electricity to park
• Restroom
facilities (porta-potties
now!)
• Entrance signage
• Three small
picnic shelters
Future enhancements
planned include tennis
courts and upgrades to
the soccer fields.
