Carl Richard BrandtCarl Richard Brandt

Carl Richard Brandt, husband, constant lover and true friend to Mary Lou passed away at his residence in Albemarle County August 12, 2007.

He is the son of the late Charles Ralph and Clara Bocksch Brandt of York, PA. He was born in York, PA. June 11, 1925 and graduated from York High
School. He attended Franklin and Marshall College and Duke University.

He graduated from the United States Naval Academy and received his Masters in Naval Engineering at MIT. He retired from the Navy in 1967 and worked with Ametk, Inc. in various Corporate and Division managerial positions, again retiring in 1986 to Charlottesville, Va.

Growing grapes and making wine became his passion and for many years he passed on the fruits of this endeavor to friends and family. Computers and
the stock market also aroused his interest. He loved the ups and even the downs of this game being a mathematician at heart.

Among those he leaves a loving daughter he held close to his heart; Carolyn Kissiah ,her husband Rick and treasured children Kristin and Jennifer, a son David, his wife Debi and children, Clara and Zoe, a
stepdaughter he grew to love over the years Rebecca Hartman, her husband Donald Lee, and always Leitha and Ashleigh, a sister, Virginia and her
esteemed husband Albert.

He loved and lived a good life with many triumphs and few regrets. Treasured memories will remain with us all.

Private services for the family to follow at Prospect Hill, York, Pa.

No flowers please.
