Christine Cleage

Christine Cleage, 92, of Ruckersville, passed away at The Laurels of Charlottesville on Thursday, November 15, 2007.

She was born March 31, 1915, in Greene County, to the late Evangeline and Louis Cleage.

Christine was raised in Washington D.C. where she spent most of her life. She retired from the federal government in 1977 after 34 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Terrance L. White.

She is survived by two sisters, Evangeline Cleage and Marlene (Emmite) McGriff; two daughters, Sharon White Young and her husband, Dennis, and Darlene Cleage; a granddaughter, Colette White; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a niece; and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be held from 1 until 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007, with funeral services following at 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church, 16034 Spotswood Trail, Route 33, Ruckersville, VA 22968, with the Reverend Stanley Holmes, Pastor, officiating.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
