Davis Early

Davis Early, 91, of Stanardsville passed away Friday, August 17, 2007 at a local nursing home.

Born on December 17, 1915 in Greene County, Davis was the son of the late Matthew and Mary Grave Early.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Early; one son, Page Early; one daughter, Nellie Mae Johnson; and many brothers and sisters.

Davis leaves to cherish his memory two daughters, Marie Burley of Barboursville and Lucy Mae Thomas of Stanardsville; one son, James Early of Charlottesville; one brother, Randolph Early also of Charlottesville; one sister, Frances Mallory of Stanardsville; 30 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, other family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church in Stanardsville with the Rev. Harrison Williams officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church.
