Marvin D. Haney

Marvin D. Haney, 93, of Palmyra passed away March 3, 2008 at a local nursing home.

Marvin was born on July 19, 1914 in Greene County.  He was the son of the late David Haney and Suzie Daniel Haney. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Garvey Haney; one sister, Mabel Haney. 

Marvin is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Knighting Haney; one daughter, Susan Feliciano and her husband, Frank; one son, David Haney all of Palmyra; one granddaughter, Sophia Manning of Wisconsin; and many other family members and friends.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, March 8, 2008 at the  Ruckersville Cemetery with Rev. Lindsay Walton officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Greene County Rescue Squad, PO Box 302, Stanardsville, Virginia 22973 or the Lake Monticello Fire and Rescue, 10 Slice Road, Palmyra, Virginia 22963.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Laurels of Charlottesville for their support and care of Marvin.
