Edward “Oscar” Raines, Jr.

Edward “Oscar” Raines, Jr. 69 of Ruckersville, VA died on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his sister’s home in Stanardsville. He was born on December 19, 1942 in Dyke, VA to the late Edward “Bucky” Raines, Sr. and Lola Faye Shifflett Raines.

Oscar was a happy man with a colorful and rich personality. He loved music and especially playing bluegrass. His love for his family and friends shined through and will be missed by so many.

He is survived by his siblings, Madeline Shifflett, Wayne Raines, Jurene Wampler and Wilma Bartley, his special nieces, Christy Raines and Norma Rogers, special nephew, Jason Raines and his great nieces and nephew, Anneke, Samura and Jordan.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his siblings, Wesley Raines, Judgie Raines, Michael Raines, Warren Raines and Doris Deane.

A private cremation service is being held at a later date.
