Marilyn Jean Ridge

Marilyn Jean (Linaberry) Ridge, 75, passed away Oct. 19, 2007, in Evergreene Nursing Home in Stanardsville, Va.

She was born May 23, 1932, in South Montrose, Pa., the daughter of Edwin and Evelyn Fessenden.

She managed the Woodbridge Beauty Academy from 1969 to 1982. She was an active volunteer in the Woodbridge Girls Athletic Program for 5 years. In 1982, she and her husband moved to Stanardsville, Va., where she later became a police dispatcher until her illness in 1992.

She is survived by her four children, Michael Linaberry and his wife, Karen, of Dayton, Ohio, Susan Scites and her husband, James, of Manassas, Va., Julie Pieritz and her husband, Bryan, of Bartlett, Tenn., and Kris Linaberry and his wife, Jennifer, of Stanardsville, Va.; and eight grandchildren, Matthew and Erin Linaberry, Courtney and Jonathan Scites, Nathan and Jason Pieritz and Emma Lee and Kaye Lee Linaberry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilton Rae Ridge, on July 16, 2006.

Funeral services will be held privately under the care of Ryan Funeral Home, Quinque, Va.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greene County Humane Society, the Greene County Fire and Rescue or to the National Alzheimer’s Association.

Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
