Ernest W. Roach
Ernest William Roach, 74, of
Stanardsville passed away Sunday, December 2, 2007
after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Ernest was born November 20, 1933 in Greene County. He
was the son of the late Luther W. Roach and Minnie F.
Roach.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by three brothers, Gordon O. Roach, Leroy Roach
and Samuel E. Roach; two brothers-in-law, James W.
Morris and John Crawford.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Annie
McDaniel Roach; one son, Keith W. Roach both of
Stanardsville; three brothers, Prentice E. Roach and
his wife, Esther of Barboursville, Shirley O. Roach
and his wife, Mary of Louisa, Johnny W. Roach and his
wife, Patsy of Gordonsville; three sisters, Virginia
E. Crawford of Elkton, Lena M.
Morris of Charlottesville, Jeannie P. Thompson and her
husband, Orman C. “Tommy” Thompson of Ruckersville;
and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family
members and friends, especially Wanda Davis and
Frances Riner, two nieces who were like sisters to
Ernest.
The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M.
Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Nortonsville
Pentecostal Church.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M.
Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the Nortonsville
Pentecostal Church with Brother Frank Chapman and
Brother Ellis Roach officiating. Interment will follow
at Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to
the Hospice of the Piedmont, Drs. Robert Pritchard,
Gordon Morris, John McGovern, Andrew Bailey, the
medical staff of Martha Jefferson Hospital, the Greene
County Rescue Squad and many special friends for their
kindness and support of Ernest and his family.
Memorial Contributions may be made in Ernest’s memory
to the American Cancer Society, 1445 E. Rio Road Suite
104, Charlottesville, Virginia 22901.
