Blanche M. Small

Blanche M. Small passed away at the Evergreene Nursing Home on Monday,
January 14, 2008 after a long illness.

She was the last sibling of the children born to the late John and Clemmie Morris. Blanche was also preceded in death by six brothers, Everette, Elzie, Manis, Roscoe, Ralph and Joe Morris; two sisters, Alda Downey, Hannah Hilderbrand and a special devoted friend, Lewis Eddins.

She is survived by her son Johnnie Shifflett and his wife, Marian; one grandson, Ricky Shifflett all of Elkton; a host of nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. She enjoyed being with her friends at Moose Lodge 1028, especially Lucille Miller, Faye Brown, Charlotte Dudley and Addie Mae Harris.

She was an employee of Frank IX and Sons until her retirement and was a member of the Mt. Grove Chapel, Church of the Brethren in Dyke, Virginia. She was a member of Charlottesville Moose Lodge No. 1028.

A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Evergreen Cemetery, Dyke, Virginia with Rev. Jim Jinks officiating.

To honor her wishes, there will be no public viewing or visitation.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

The family wishes to send a sincere heartfelt thank you to all o Blanche’s wonderful friends for the way they touched each other’s lives.

Aunt Blanche when you enter the heavenly gates, dance a step or two for all of us and we hope you keep on dancing. We will always love
and miss you.
