Mary Dorcas Roach Smith, 71, of Greene County went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Martha Jefferson Hospital.

She was born May 7, 1936 in Greene County. She was the daughter of the late Rev. Talmadge and Mary Ann Roach..

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Roach.

She leaves to cherish her memory a special son, Alfred Joshua Smith; one grandson, Damitri Joshua Lee Smith; many extended family members including special cousins, Ester, Eunice and Geneva; a very special friend, Ruby Roach, who always stood by her.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Evergreene Nursing Home, Rosemary Shaw and the Martha Jefferson Hospital for all of their love and support.

Mary Dorcas was a member of Geer Pentecostal Church. She was loved by everyone and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 P.M. Friday, January 4, 2008 at the Ryan Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, January 5, 2008 at the Ryan Funeral Home with Rev. Oral Dovel officiating. Interment will follow at High Top Family Cemetery.
