Lucy
Mae Thomas
Lucy Mae Thomas, 73, of Stanardsville
went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 26,
2007.
Lucy Mae was born on October 7, 1934 in
Charlottesville. She was the daughter of the late
Davis and Mamie Early.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death
her husband, Leon Thomas; one sister, Nellie Johnson;
one brother, Page Early; one grandson, James Carroll
Faulkner.
She leaves to cherish her memory six daughters,
Margaret Wells and her husband, Charles, Lois Faulkner
and her husband, James, Carolyn Thomas all of
Stanardsville, Deborah Chesley and her husband,
Charles, Shelby Hawkins and Victoria Thomas all of
Ruckersville; four sons, Leon Thomas, Jr. and his
wife, Carla of Birmingham, Alabama, Jeff Thomas of
Stanardsville, Rex Thomas of Harrisonburg, John Thomas
of Barboursville; 21 grandchildren; 21 great
grandchildren.
Lucy Mae also leaves to cherish her memory one sister,
Marie Burley of Barboursville; one brother, James
Early of Charlottesville; one uncle, Randolph Early of
Stanardsville; one aunt Frances Early also of
Stanardsville; a special family friend, Mrs. Winslow;
a host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Tuesday,
October 30, 2007 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev.
Harrison Williams officiating. Interment will follow
at Shiloh Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30 A.M.
Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at the Shiloh Baptist
Church.
The family would like to thank Dr. Laura Rice, Dr.
Margaret Plews-Ogan, Nurse Mary Wood and all the staff
of the University of Virginia Cancer Center for all
their care and support.
