Oh, no! Only 9 weeks until Christmas and so much to do.

Not to worry. Just join everyone at the Womans Club of Greene County’s 31st annual Crafts Bazaar, Saturday, November 4, 2006. Doors are openlamp from 9:00AM until 3:00PM at Ruckersville Elementary School located on Route 33, 1 mile west of the Route 33/Route 29 interchange. Admission and parking are free.

You can shop till you drop but there is no need. You will find everything you want for family, friends and co-workers – even yourself. Grab a gift guide at the door or the Womans Club booth to find your way to those perfect items to fill you wish list.

If you are one of the thousands who have attended the bazaar in past years, you will probably recognize some of your favorite crafters. We also have lots of new artisans and items including more jewelry, apparel, home décor and gifts perfect for that special man in your life.

For decades, shoppers in the know have come to the bazaar to shop for the holiday and to treat themselves with one-of-a-kind arts and crafts. Each year, they share the experience with their friends and the bazaar has become a must-do event on the first Saturday of November.

wreathIf trying to decide just which unique and individual item you must have makes you hungry, a hot lunch is available in the cafeteria. Sit and relax for a moment while you think how many people you will make happy with your selections.

Did we mention the bake sale items? There are too many yummy things to list. Grab a few to freeze for the holidays when you have unexpected guests.

Then remember that your patronage is helping young women in Greene County discover their own unique potential. Proceeds from booth rentals help the Womans Club of Greene County fund their annual scholarship program.

Past recipients have gone on to become professionals in Greene County and other areas. When you give, you help us give back. tree

Other community service organizations also use the funds from sales at their booths to help make Greene a wonderful place to live and visit.

The annual bazaar is also the kick-off for the month-long “Thanks ‘IS’ Giving” food drive to benefit the Greene County Food Bank. Bins will be available at the door for anyone who would like to make a donation of a non-perishable food item.

Stop by the Womans Club booth to find out more about the group and to buy raffle tickets for the door prizes. Volunteers are there to help you with information, directions, or a friendly thank-you.

ornamentTo find out more, contact Alex Carrier by phone at 434-985-6648 or by email at wcofgreene@earthlink.net. You can also request a link to a preview of some of the vendors and items available during the bazaar, a map and more information.

If you would like to be part of the “Thanks ‘IS’ Giving” food drive, please contact Elaine Barnett at 985-2579. The Womans Club administers the Greene Food Bank.

The Food Bank is totally funded through donations from the Womans Club and local individuals, businesses and organizations. Everything collected stays in Greene County.

The Womans Club of Greene County is a 501C3 service organization. Projects of the club include the bazaar, the food bank, and an annual scholarship, Children’s Christmas Gift Project and Yard Sale.

Guests and prospective members are always welcome. Come join the fun.
