Musings about pets

I miss my cats
Their soft mews
The whiskered kisses
‘cross my face
Their quiet ways
You never know when they are there
I miss the nights of sleep
No need to take them out at 2am
No need to hurry home to see they are fed
Like them I can stay in bed
Until I feel like getting up
No demand for treats
They are happy with their bowl
Of kitty food
Dainty when they chew
The only requirement of me
To see that it is full
Plenty of water, a scratching post
A gentle rub across the head
A litter box ready for its needs
A soft towel on the dryer
In the laundry room,
Where a window gives a splendid view
A
cat is easy to care for
They really suit me fine
So I ask pray tell
Have I lost my mind?
Why do I own a dog?
